In the development process OPTOPOL TECHNOLOGY S.A. cooperates with the group of scientists from Medical Physics Department of Nicolas Copernicus University in Torun directed by prof Andrzej Kowalczyk (Chairman of Supervisory) and dr Maciej Wojtkowski, who received the EURYI (European Young Investigator Award) in 2007. This Prize is a prestige award granted for researchers to develop their scientific work and to carry out their projects. The awarded project concerns working on new research methods based on optical tomography in combination with fluorescent microscopy. Thanks to this solution watching the processes occurring on the cell level during biological processes will be possible.
Cooperation with Nicolas Copernicus University includes the study and development of the new diagnostic method called OCT – Optical Coherence Tomography. As a result, Spectral Optical Tomography SOCT Copernicus was created. Currently, it is being produced and developed by OPTOPOL TECHNOLOGY S.A. Based on the contract with Nicolas Copernicus University, OPTOPOL TECHNOLOGY has the exclusive rights to the commercial use of all new constructions, improvement ideas and concepts which are being developed as a result of this cooperation, moreover our company has a priority in accessing any new solutions in the OCT diagnostic methods.
Additionally, during the development and launching of new products, OPTOPOL TECHNOLOGY S.A. cooperates with specialized companies and outdoor institutions, such as Warsaw University (in the range of testing videodermatoscope to diagnose skin illnesses) or patent offices.
